Made me laugh, here near the end of my summer of sheltering, 2020 will always be remembered not so fondly! Sick of it, frankly... but I appreciate the

way the review drew my attention and did actually get me to stop and listen... hope its a good one!

Do Not Pass Go
If your shelter in place listening wheel has somehow landed on this date, and this recording, stop what you are doing, press play and be thankful for your

good fortune. For reasons unknown, this show gets nowhere near enough love, but trust me, the boys were in fine form on this night. Jerry is razor sharp, and his playing is brimming with both energy and ideas. Try the Let it Grow, for example. He was also quite obviously enjoying himself. Indeed, its as if he simply did not want to stop playing at the end of Eyes, so he just keeps going. Brent also has a strong outing, with nuanced interplay throughout many of the jams. The post space Other One->Wharf Rat->Sugar Mag is really terrific. The fuzz solo in Wharf Rat, alone, is well worth the price of admission. 1981 may yet get its due. Think of it this way, Jerry's vocals were still strong, he was mostly clear-eyed and, on any given night, could summon his full powers and deliver a brilliant performance. All of that is on abundant display this night, thanks to Mr. Miller's pristine sbd. Take the win, and enjoy the listen. Tell 'em KatfishJohn sent you.

like GD shows the incredible artifacts we retain and cherish such as these recordings are usually journeyman, usually humble about their gifts to the those of us moved by the work. People like Charlie do so much work, work that flows from their tender hearts and artistic or technological skills. We are so blessed to have our lives moved in such deeply felt ways by these extraordinarily generous and kind souls. I am in a state of endless gratitude for all those that are out there doing the work, work that transforms lives, brightening our often difficult existence, our daily struggle. People like Charlie are, IMO, extremely successful humans on an often dark landscape of dis-eased dysfunction. Humans aren't built to last, we are but a blink in the grand scheme and I am so grateful to have found others that have learned what it means to live with love, and love to live. THANK CHARLIE MY FRIEND! and Thank you GD family. IMO we have built what will always be a resplendent example of peak human experience. Cooperation not Competition, Equality not Inequity, Love not Indifference, Inclusion not Division.
